This wonderful family train ride through the Big South Fork National Recreation Area is a short 30-minute drive form Lost Lodge Cabin Rental. Located in historic Stearns, Ky. it features a picturesque 3-hour trip on an open rail car. The trip includes scenic gorge views and mountain streams as it descends 600 feet and stops at the Blue Heron Coal Camp. Ticket price includes admission to the Stearns Museum, a wonderful piece of Americana. There are two departures daily Wednesday thru Saturday and one on Sunday April through October, with spring and fall trips being our favorites. The Halloween Train in October is a real treat!
